What a wonderful week for our Young Women at Girls Camp 2024!
This past week the Young Women of our ward were at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park in Fort Lauderdale, participating in the Boynton Beach Stake's annual Girls Camp! The theme for this years camp was from Matthew 19:26, "Mission Possible". It is an opportunity for the YW across the stake to connect and share experiences together, forging friendships and increasing their testimonies. The experiences that these camps provide create memories that will last a lifetime.
There were so many activities that had been planned by the Stake Camp Director, Melody Carroll (yes my lovely wife!).
Obstacle Course
Beach Time
Ward craft and activity time
Escape Room
Dance Party
Bishops Night

Last night at camp, the girls were determined to stay up all night!
Obstacle Course
The first full day of camp was Wednesday June 5th. After check in and lunch, the girls participated in an obstacle course. Blind folded target practice, Tug of War over a pool, Stacking boxes without using your hands, Water Balloon toss, Water Gun shooting range, and a belly crawl under a web of laser beams (ok string, but same thing!). At the end of the course when everyone had completed the obstacles, they had a dye bomb fight!

Bishops Night
On Friday afternoon and evening, the girls had time to spend together with their ward leaders. Our YW President, Kharin Andrews and I were at the camp and we took them canoeing! It was most of their first time in a canoe and they were super nervous! But we all had a great time, and no canoes were tipped over in the process. I did splash a few of them with my canoe paddle while we were out. So afterwards they got all the water guns from Melody (again my lovely wife), and dumped water on me from buckets. It was great revenge for them!

Afterward we spent time with them studying Alma 1, teaching them how to avoid falling to temptation by people around them like Nehor.
Following dinner we set the room up for an "out of this world" experience! The testimony meeting was so incredible. You could see the growth that several of these young women had over the week. The other Bishops and I were sitting in the back and talked about how wonderful each of the girls did sharing their testimony. It was truly moving to be a part of that testimony meeting.
