7-28-2024 Young Men High Adventure Camp

We had the wonderful opportunity to take the Young Men on a high adventure trip to Central Florida! The view above is from the front porch of the cabin, at Lake Louisa State Park, it was so beautiful! The week consisted of several activities-

• Kickball

• Hiking

• Badminton and Volleyball

• Swimming at the Wekiwa Springs State Park

• Volcano Bay Water Park

When we got to the camp we explored the beach and lake area, and found where we would start our hike. We found this massive climbing tree and got the boys to all climb up in it and it amazed me that the YM don't know how to climb trees!

We played kick ball that night, it was a close game! Well, for 5 innings. Then a certain Bishop's team 15 runs in the 6th, lol. Needless to say that it did not end very close!

We went hiking the next day, I kept telling the guys we were going 10+ miles. It was HOT! So we only hiked 6miles or so.

Later that day we went to the Wekiwa Springs State Park and took the YM to swim in the natural spring. The water was a cold 72 degrees! We almost had one die, Thobar in the Linton Ward. He got all the boys to jump into the clear water off the wall, I am sure he thought the water was only 4 foot deep. Nope! It was 7-8 foot deep!! He sank to the bottom, but Tommy Irvine was nice enough to sacrifice his safety to save him!

The last day onsite we went to the Volcano Bay Water Park, part of Universal studios. It was super busy that day and not fun to me, but the guys loved it!
